Yikes! Hornworm attack in garden.

On your path to building a sustainable garden, you will find that there are many pests waiting patiently to take advantage of the beautiful habitat that you build for them to live their best, short lives from building a home, mating and providing a food source. Whatever it may be the many different living beings roaming throughout your garden can either be a benefit, like the honeybee that gently flutters around pollinating flowers to the hornworm that will ravage your tomato garden within weeks.

Hornworms are a natural enemy to the tomato plant because they will devour all of the necessary leaves for the plant to survive, but the truth is they are just trying to survive as well. They can be hard to recognize due to their innate ability to camouflage themselves into the branches of the stems. You normally would not see them until they increase in size over time after a nice fill of your plant and can reach lengths of up to 6-8 inches.
