Mission Philly Volunteers Day

We had a group called Mission Philly come this weekend past to assist us with getting our community garden and orchard organized and maintained. They are actually the ones who help build up the gardens that I oversee now when the original director was running the organization. There were at least three generations in attendance who have been coming to help our organization out long before I started. We had a very successful weekend working at the sites doing things like; moving soil, mulching pathways, planting herbs, weeding out the raised beds and painting tires to use as planters.

It was such a great experience for me especially to hear about the history of how all of this got started. The director Kyle Evans was so awesome with helping coordinate tasks and making herself available for whatever it was I needed. I can not thank these beautiful people enough.

Here are a few images from the day. Enjoy!
