Hey Everyone!
Happy Monday I hope your day is going well so far. I want to give you guys a brief tour of a community garden that, not only do I volunteer on certain days, I was also graciously given access to a few raised beds to grow in.
The Garden is ran by a gentleman named Dan Reyes from an organization called Urban Tree Connection. I’ll try and post the organization’s contact information below, in case anyone wants to volunteer in anyway. The Garden is at least 1,100 square feet (don’t quote me) and have over 25 raised beds throughout.
They come out to the grounds with their apprentices and volunteers every Wednesday from 4pm-7pm and Saturdays from 9am-2pm. I tend to go throughout the week to not only tend to my beds, but I also do some weeding on the grounds and other raised beds, to help others when they can not make it out as often.
Being out there is so much fun because everyone is so welcoming and kind hearted. It is always a thrill to be around individuals with the same passion and excitement about bringing the communities together, by way of sustainable food from gardening and reconnecting with one another.
Here is a brief tour of the garden you guys I hope you enjoy. Look below for the contact info. #PearlStreetCommunityGarden #UrbanTreeConnection #Organigrow.wordpress.com
